Trinkets of the Loins, Lyrics by Sarnia de la Mare #life #death

Trinkets of the Loins

Oh how I longed
for cars and women,
for trinkets
of the loins.
See me,
hear me,
I am here,
deserved of love.
What life is this
to be ignored,
to be a man
that no one saw?
To melt into
oblivion.
Time steals decency,
devours pride.
We all but disappear
into its ravenous jaws,
its greed for souls
never
satiated.
What life was this?
No one recalls
my strength of
being.
Yes, I was here!
Was I not
someone's
hopes and dreams,
if not my own
at least?
A mother's son?
A woman's desire?
Is there really
nothing
that remains?
Naught
but air
once
breathed?
